A new Disney castle has been built upon the old castle in Hong Kong.
Instead of the traditional Sleeping Beauty design, the Disney designers decided to go with a more eclectic image that shows support for diversity. The 13 towers now represent several different princesses including Mulan and Pocahontas.
Not only that, but inside the castle there are images of the princesses representing them as powerful women, and not in a submissive position.
The big challenge about building this new castle was doing it while the park was open to visitors.
The solution was to use “modules”. They would build the “modules” in a factory, carry them to the park. Everything was done off site.
For Disney fans this is the new “must-see” spot.
