Pantone has announced their chosen colour for the year 2022.
Pantone is a colour matching company. By using their colour matching system, companies, artists, designers, etc. around the world are able to refer to colours through codes.
With these codes everyone can know exactly which colour it is, even without seeing it.
Every year Pantone announces their colour for the next year. This time, instead of choosing, they created a new one. It is called Very Peri.
They said that we are now living in a new world, so creating a new colour is symbolic.
It’s a hue of blue with a little bit of red. It feels like a very warm blue, and also feels new.
They have partnered with Microsoft, which will release this new colour across various applications such as PowerPoint, Teams, screensavers, ect.
It’s said they will announce more partnerships soon.
