なんとか入国手続きを終えた善田さん。
今日はいよいよ出勤初日ということですが・・・
どんな会話になるのか、さっそく見てみましょう！
今日のテーマは【出勤初日】
ただでさえ新しい環境は緊張しますが、特に海外赴任先での出勤初日となると尚更緊張すると思います。
出勤初日は、自己紹介に加え、作業説明や会社案内などといった初日特有の会話も多く、日本の職場でも疲れると思います。善田さんはどんな初日を迎えているのでしょうか・・・？！
大切な初日をよりにスムーズに乗り越えられるように、いくつか例を見て一緒に準備してみましょう！

Yoshida:
Nice to meet you all. My name is Yoshida.
As you know I come from Japan and I’ll be working here for a while.
There is a lot I won’t know at first, but I hope you can help me get better as a team.
Sergio:
Welcome Yoshida, We are happy to have you on the team. You’ll get used to the office in no time.
Bruno will show you around and tell you what to do for now.
Bruno:
Hey, I’m Bruno. Nice to meet you.
So, here is the reception. If we go through here we have the common workspace. You can sit anywhere, and there are no private desks.
If you have anything you want to leave at the office, please put it in a locker.
Yoshida:
I see. It’s a very flexible workstyle. It sounds exciting.
Bruno:
Yeah, I think so too!
Next, there on the right you have the break room. Feel free to use it anytime. It’s very comfortable.
Just remember to write your name on your food and drinks if you use the fridge. Just in case.
Yoshida:
Got it. The break room looks really nice. Is there a cafeteria here?
Bruno:
Unfortunately, no. But we have a microwave in the break room.
Also, there are a lot of good restaurants with lunch menus around here.
Yoshida:
Alright. I would like to know some of the good restaurants to have lunch. Could you tell me a few?
Bruno:
Of course! Usually I eat out as well, so I’ll take you to a few of my favorite restaurants.
Yoshida:
Thanks, that sounds great!
Bruno:
Alright, so finally, here are the bathrooms. Men on the left and Women on the right.
Any questions?
Yoshida:
No, got everything! Thanks for the tour.
Bruno:
No problem. Now, for the work…

皆さん、初めまして。善田と申します。
ご存じの通り、日本から来てしばらくの間ここで働くことになりました。
最初は分からないことが多いと思いますが、チームに溶け込めるよう皆さんのお力添えいただければ幸いです。
セルジオ:
ようこそ、善田さん。私たちのチームに来てくれて嬉しいです。オフィスにはすぐ慣れると思います。
ブルノが、オフィスの案内と当面の作業についての説明をしてくれます。
ブルノ:
こんにちは、ブルノです。よろしくお願いします。
では、ここが受付です。そしてここを通ると、共有ワークスペースがあります。どの席でも自由に使ってもらって大丈夫です。自分専用のデスクはありません。
もし事務所に置いておきたいものがあれば、ロッカーを使ってください。
善田さん:
なるほど。とてもフレキシブルなワークスタイルですね。楽しそうです。
ブルノ:
はい、僕もそう思います！
次は、そこの右手に休憩室があります。いつでも遠慮なく使ってください。すごく快適ですよ。
冷蔵庫を使う際は、食べ物や飲み物に忘れずに名前を書いてください。念のため。
善田さん:
分かりました。休憩室、すごくよさそうですね。食堂はありますか？
ブルノ:
残念ながら、ないんです。ただ、休憩室に電子レンジがあります。
あと、この辺りにはランチメニューのある美味しい店がいっぱいあります。
善田さん:
分かりました。ランチするのにおすすめのレストランが知りたいです。いくつか教えてくれますか？
ブルノ:
もちろんです！僕もいつも外で食べているので、僕のお気に入りの店にいくつか一緒に行きましょう。
善田さん:
ありがとうございます！いいですね！
ブルノ:
では、最後に、ここがお手洗いです。左が男性で、右が女性です。
何か聞いておきたいことがありますか？
善田さん:
いえ、大丈夫です！ツアーありがとうございました。
ブルノ:
いいえ。では、作業に関しては・・・

今日のTALKは勉強になりましたか？
説明を聞くときはその情報量にびっくりしてしまうこともあると思います。
重要なのは、大抵の場合、100％理解をする必要はなく、キーとなる単語や表現がつかめれば良いということです。
会話を繰り返し読んで、よく使われる表現に慣れていきましょう！
