ついに健康保険も手続きを終え、落ち着いた日常生活をスタートできそうな善田さん。
今回は近所のスーパーに行ってみたら、いろいろな発見があったようです！
今日のテーマは【スーパーマーケット探検】
スーパーでは普段そんなに会話の必要はないかもしれませんが、国によって買い物の仕方や、レジで聞かれることなどは少し変わります。違いをみるのは面白いですが、戸惑うこともあると思うので、少し例を見てみましょう！

Yoshida:
It’s the first time I see the fish and the meat cutters working in front of people.
Why don’t they prepare the food in the back?
Bruno:
They aren’t preparing it to be packed!
In Portugal to show the meat and the fish is fresh and to allow people to choose exactly what they want, we have all the food here inside the glass counter.
Yoshida:
Oh wow, I would never have guessed that.
How do I order?
Bruno:
You point or ask the for the kind of fish or meat you want, and you order by weight!
Yoshida:
Very interesting.
How about the fruit? I only see the price per kilo written down, how do I know how much one or two pieces cost?
Bruno:
That depends on the supermarket.
In some you have to weight it by yourself, while in others the cashier will do it for you when you’re about to pay.
Yoshida:
Let’s just say I’m very happy you came with me today…
At the cashier
Staff:
Will you need a bag?
Yoshida:
Yes, two please.
Staff:
Here you go.
Please take your items from the cart and put them here.
Do you have a point card?
Yoshida:
No, but I’d like to make one.
Staff:
Please fill in this form and bring it the next time you come.

Do you need your tax payer number in the receipt?
Yoshida:
No, thank you, I don’t have one.

善田さん:
魚や肉の準備をしている人がこうやって人前で作業するのを見るのは初めてです。
裏で準備しないんですか？
ブルーノ:
準備しているのは、パッケージに入れるためじゃないんですよ！
ポルトガルでは、魚や肉が新鮮だと見せるため、そしてお客さんがちゃんと買いたい物を選べるようにするため、このガラスのカウンターに食材をそのまま並べるんですよ。
善田さん:
ほ～、教えてもらわなかったら、絶対に分からなかったです。
注文はどうやってするんですか？
ブルーノ:
指をさして選んだり、買いたい肉や魚の種類を伝えたりして、そして重さを伝えて注文するんですよ！
善田さん:
面白いですね。
果物もですか？１キロ当たりの価格が書いてありますけど、一個か二個のときの値段はどうやって分かるんですか？
ブルーノ:
それはスーパーによっても変わります。
自分で秤を使って量らないといけない場合もあれば、レジのお会計のときにお店の人が図ってくれる場合もあります。
善田さん:
今日ブルーノさんが一緒でよかったです・・・
レジで
店員:
袋は利用されますか？
善田さん:
はい、二枚ください。
店員:
こちらです。
商品をカートからだして、こちらにおいてください。
ポイントカードはお持ちですか？
善田さん:
ないです。でも作りたいです。
店員:
では、こちらのフォームに記入して、次回ご来店の際にお持ちください。

納税者番号をレシートに入れますか？
善田さん:
いいえ、ないので大丈夫です。
カードでお願いします。
店員:

◆That depends
So, I always have to deliver the report 2 days after the meeting?
ってことは、レポートは毎回会議後二日以内に送らないといけないってことですね。
― That depends. If the meeting was on a Thursday, you can deliver it until Monday.
― 場合による。会議が木曜日だった場合は、月曜日までに送ればいいよ。
I think we should do another meeting this week, but it depends on you.
今週もう一回会議した方がいいと思うんですが、あなた次第です。

― とりあえず次回からは違うところを探すとだけ言っておく。
