スーパーデビューを果たし、ポルトガルの日常にも馴染んてきた善田さん。
友人も少しずつ増えてきたところで、今回は思い切って映画に誘ってみることにしたようですが・・・
今日のテーマは【友達を誘う】
誰かを誘うのは、慣れるまでは緊張するかもしれません。特に、新しい土地で知り合ったばかりの友人となると少し勇気がいります。よくあるシチュエーションを例に練習して、どんどん誘えるようになりましょう！
At the office
Yoshida:
So Pedro, do you have any plans for the weekend?
Pedro:
Not much.
I want to do some grocery shopping and catch-up on some TV shows, but that’s it.
Yoshida:
Really? How about going to the movies on Saturday?
Pedro:
That sounds fun! Are there any movies you’re interested in watching?
Yoshida:
Nothing in particular.
As long as it isn’t a horror or a very sad movie I’m ok.
Pedro:
I’m not good with sad movies either.
Though I like a few horror movies.
In that case, how about the new Super Spy Special 3?
Yoshida:
Oh, I’ve heard about that!
I haven’t watched the first 2 though.
Pedro:
That’s fine, I don’t think they’re connected.
Yoshida:
In that case, sure!
I’ll check the timetable tonight and I’ll text you as soon as possible.
Pedro:
Perfect, thanks!
Can’t wait! Thank you for inviting me.
Yoshida:
Me too! See you later.
オフィスで
善田さん:
それでペドロさん、今週末は何か予定がありますか？
ペドロ:
特には。
食料品の買い出しと見られずに溜まっているテレビ番組を見ちゃいたいなあと思っているけど、それくらいです。
善田さん:
そうですか？そしたら、土曜日に映画館に行きませんか？
ペドロ:
いいですね！何か観たい映画がありますか？
善田さん:
特にこれというのはないです。
ホラーや泣かせる映画じゃなければ、何でも大丈夫です。
ペドロ:
私も悲しい映画が苦手です。
ホラー映画はいくつか好きな作品がありますが。
それでしたら、新作のスーパースパイスペシャル３はどうですか？
善田さん:
ああ、聞いたことがあります！
１と２は観たことないんですが。
ペドロ:
大丈夫です、繋がりがないと思います。
善田さん:
じゃ、それにしましょう！
今晩上映スケジュールを確認して、すぐ連絡しますね。
ペドロ:
いいですね、ありがとう！
楽しみです！お誘いありがとうございます！
善田さん:
私もです！では、また後で。

What did you think of my presentation?
私のプレゼン、どう思いましたか？
― I really enjoyed it. In particular your graphs were very easy to understand.
― すごく良かったです。特にあのグラフ、とても分かりやすかったです！
My stomach hurts, but today I didn’t eat anything strange in particular.
おなかが痛いけど、今日は特に変なものを食べていない。

John, are you joining us?
ジョンも一緒にくる？
― Sorry, I’m not good with horror movies.
― ごめん、ホラー映画は少し苦手で。
I like doing presentations, but I’m not good with PowerPoint…
プレゼンをするのは好きですけど、パワーポイントはあまり得意じゃないです・・・
今日のTALKは勉強になりましたか？
まだ知り合って間もない人を何かに誘うのは簡単なことではないかもしれませんが、海外では割と普通のことですし、新しい友達を作るのにはもってこいの方法です。
少し勇気を出せば、現地の人とも早く仲良くなれますし、海外生活を有意義に過ごせますし、会話の練習にもなり、いいこと尽くしです！
