NEWS - Government Supports Freelancers

In light of recent events, most workers around the world have had a negative impact on their work-style or income.
One of the most affected groups have been the freelancers.
Either due to social distancing leading to the cancelling of events, or as a result of the cost reducing measures employed by companies.
Every government is providing different kinds and levels of support to freelancers.
The government of Portugal promised a monthly amount of 439 euros to all those who can prove a complete shutdown of working activities.
The regional government of Madeira (an autonomous region of Portugal), went further and promised a monthly amount of 880 euros. In this case the costs will be divided between Social Security and the Employment Center.
The minimum wage in Portugal is 635 euros and in Madeira it’s 650 euros.
